Why do we have 'THE STOP'? Good question, I guess to put the church back in the center of the community where it can be a blessing to everyone, not just the ones who believe in God!

Jesus didnt only bless those who were going to follow him. Of the 10 lepers he healed, only 1 came back to thank him - the rest apparently ran off to get back to all the non-leper stuff they'd been missing so much, which I guess is in some ways understandable. Was he sad that they didn't? Yes. Surprised? What with being God that seems unlikely;)  Jesus didnt hunt them down and un-heal them- (at least as far as we know....just kidding). No Jesus blessed them because he loved them.

It strikes me that everyone who met Jesus came away better than when they started-and thats the model we seek to follow.

Of course, believing in the Bible, we want nothing more than to see people put their trust in God. But alot of the time people dont want to be preached at, and thats ok because we're not that big on preaching at them either(-especially on a Friday night!).

So that's why every few weeks we have THE STOP. To say hey, come and join us. We're not crazy, we're not trying to trick you into becoming a Christian, we're not going to give  a cheesey christian epilogue after everything we do. We're just doing things because, well because they're fun. Being a Christian is not something we have to trick anyone into-that would be like tricking someone into eating Candy- they'd just say "Thanks for the Candy but what's with the tricks freakshow?" We just invite you to take a look- our faith is one that stands up to reason.

So if people do have questions about religion, God, why we believe what we believe and everything else, (and most people do) then thats what the weeks in between are for.
